Saving Failing Implants

SAVING AILING / FAILING IMPLANTS

Dr. Miller has devised a procedure with the laser

and has been lecturing around the world for the past 10 years on:

'Can you save my Implant Doctor??"

There are occasions when for various reasons patients have been told you need surgery to remove your implant(s) and then we can surgically place new ones later.

There are many reasons why a patient may end up in such a situation creating this issue:

---whether a patient does not maintain their oral health care

---medications causing dry mouth,

---illness where the infection has also invaded the oral cavity

---accident

The fact remains:  implants are susceptible to infection as is any other part of your body.

The good news:    In many cases, the implant (or in older cases:  the sub-periosteal implant ) can be saved.

There are tests to determine if saving your failing implant is possible.  This must be discussed with the dentist as every case is individual and may require different clinical testing.
